Underneath

In the underneath world
where the roots are branches,
and the worms are bees,
and the rain digs trenches,
and the air is soiled,
and the creatures dwell deep,
and the bodies are spoiled,
and the day's fast asleep,
In the underneath world,
you may see night as day,
you may find that no stars
shine as bright as they may,
but there's one thing you know:
that you need not be brave;
For beneath every stone
there's a welcoming grave.
